About Perfume Codex
An independent reference archive for fragrance — built by collectors, for anyone who wants to know what is actually in the bottle.
Why this exists
The fragrance information available online is dominated by three things: advertising, affiliate revenue, and user ratings with no stated methodology. Meanwhile the questions collectors actually ask — which batch is this, has it been reformulated, what is a fair price for a discontinued bottle, is this bottle genuine — are answered poorly or not at all.
Perfume Codex is an attempt to answer those questions with structure instead of opinion.
What we publish
- Structured reference data for each fragrance: note pyramid, accords, concentration, release year and perfumer where known.
- Batch code documentation — how to read the code on a bottle, with sources.
- A community where members discuss, contribute photographs and trade with each other.
What we do not do
- We do not sell perfume on this site, and we take no affiliate commission on any fragrance we document.
- We do not publish aggregated star ratings we cannot justify statistically.
- We do not republish other sites' text or images. Images here are original renders, and member photographs are used only with the contributor's permission.
- We do not accept payment for a favourable entry.
